A round trip on the Wilderness Road – An amazing experience never to forget!
Your round trip can start or end at Meselefors Camping. We advise everybody who wants to explore the wilderness road area not to be in a hurry! There are so many fabulous places to discover, so much wild nature, amazing history and culture – you definitely would miss too much if you'd try to do the whole trip in a day or two!
Meselefors Vandrarhem & Camping (a 3 star camping) is situated on the river Ångermanälven and the famous Inlandsbana - a touristic train connection between Kristinehamn near Karlstad, and Gällivare in the north of Sweden, above the polar circle - that even has a halt at our camping place! Near Meselefors you'll also find the 1.690 km long 'inlandsvägen' that connects the utter south with the utter north of Sweden. 25 km to the north you'll find the cosy town Vilhelmina, and 30 km to the south lies Dorotea.
Our camping is not only popular among nature and wilderness lovers, but also among fishing enthusiasts and visitors of the famous Jokkmokk market and Åsele market. In winter you can use the extended network of snowscooter paths that lead you to impressive places deep in the mountains.
The reception has opened from 09.00 to 21.00, and in the high season from 08.00 to 21.00
We have opened the whole year round.
